CELEBRATING 10 YEARS AT SLADE BROOK: As we celebrate this conservation milestone, we invite you to join us at 3:00 pm on Sunday, August 30. Hear the story of the community effort that made this conservation project possible. There will be refreshments and a guided hike plus an opportunity to explore the brook. Meet our staff and volunteers and share your experiences of this beautiful brook. So bring your family and friends and help us celebrate! We’ll gather at the trailhead kiosk at 21 River Road just north of Purling Brooks Drive. We have arranged for nearby parking. RSVPs are encouraged but not required. Ten years ago, the lovely falls and shaded glens of lower Slade Brook were targeted for a subdivision. Today lower Slade Brook tumbles undisturbed through the Natural Area, where we can all enjoy it.
