Northern Stage presents New Works Now! The Land Where the King is a Child

By Henri de Montherlant, adapted by Wayne Lawson and Julian Sancton, and directed by Chad Larabee

Join Northern Stage for our second annual New Works Now, a showcase and celebration of new plays. Inaugurated in 2014, New Works Now presents fully rehearsed staged readings of works new to the American theater. A new adaptation of a play by one of France's most important writers, The Land Where the King is a Child examines the blossoming friendship between two young boys in a Catholic boys school, and how that relationship is examined, manipulated and ultimately destroyed by the teachers and priests meant to be protecting and educating the boys. This new adaptation is by Vanity Fair Magazine's legendary literary editor, Wayne Lawson, in collaboration with Julian Sancton. An exquisitely sensitive play about a difficult and extremely relevant subject. Admission is free but reservations are required. Call the Box Office today to reserve your seats! (802) 296-7000
