Artist Talk: Luciana Frigerio

Join us for a talk by artist Luciana Frigerio in conjunction with her exhibition "Paperworks" on view at AVA through February 1.

"Stories have always played a part in my work, whether it be imagining a story and creating an object to tell it, seeing life as it passes me by and capturing it in an image, playing with the pages of a book, or thinking deeply and telling my own personal story."

Frigerio majored in Fine Art and Photography at the School of Visual Arts in New York. Her most recent bodies of work focus on building paper worlds, creating mash-ups of different genres, de/reconstructing books, and folding the pages of books into words and symbols.

Her work has been exhibited at the 2016 Pordenonelegge Book Festival as a Featured Artist in Perdenone, Italy, as well as, Seager Grey Gallery, CA; Artistree, VT; Berkshire Art Association, MA; Robin Rice Gallery, NYC; Cornelia Street Gallery, NYC; Foto Gallery, NYC; and Marcuse-Pfeiffer Gallery, NYC. She has also been the recipient of the Vermont Council on the Arts Individual Artist Fellowship.
