Art Exhibit "O This Verdant Valley

Opening Saturday June 2, 2-4 pm, Ledyard Gallery at The Howe Library, Hanover NH

"O This Verdant Valley” Hanover,NH - The Odanaksis Art Group invites you to come and see new renderings of “O This Verdant Valley” at Ledyard Gallery at The Howe. The opening of the exhibit takes place Saturday, June 2, 2 – 4 pm.

Odanaksis, Abenaki for "little village," is an informal group of artists from several Upper Valley towns who paint weekly at outdoor venues in the Connecticut River watershed most Thursdays. We savor the encouragement and congeniality of artmaking together, both outdoors and in. All mediums and levels are welcome; to participate, be collegial and feel a passion to make art. We discuss locations, ideas, and techniques, often over lunch after painting.

Working en plein air is one source of inspiration for many artists. The majority pieces in this exhibit were started during our weekly excursions. "O This Verdant Valley” features views of the area as interpreted by artists in several mediums. Creating art outside lends itself to dynamic lighting and compositions, and we hope this show of summer landscapes can be inspiring in their many shades of green and all the other colors of summer.

On view at the Ledyard Gallery at The Howe from June 2 through August 1.
