UVER: The New Delivery Service For Local Restaurants In the Upper Valley

Feb 15, 2021 02:42PM ● By Kaitlyn Malone
In a creative effort to inspire more business and connect people at home to their favorite local restaurants a new local food delivery app has been created called UVER! At the end of February, the new UVER app will be ready for action. By using the UVER app customers will have the convenience of getting their food delivered to their homes while making sure that all of the money stays local. Other national delivery services such as Grubhub and DoorDash can take as much as 30% of the revenue from transactions which is a margin our local business can’t afford to lose right now.

During these colder months the restaurants in the Upper Valley have been struggling even more to retain customers as indoor dining has stopped due to the pandemic and outdoor dining has become less appealing with it being too chilly. The Upper Valley Eateries and Retail cooperative is using UVER for everyone’s benefit. It will start out with the restaurants Bocolo, Murphy’s, and Lou’s, and endeavors to have more than 50 businesses in the cooperative as soon as possible, including local farms and retail stores. Members of the cooperative that are a part of UVER will share delivery cars and drivers which will help to increase efficiency and revenue. The key is for the students and the local community to make sure they use the new UVER app when in need of a delivery. This is a wonderfully convenient way for the community to continue to support each other and their local business.
