Tanzi's Salon, "a Modern, Upbeat & Edgy" Addition to Hanover

Aug 16, 2017 03:00PM ● By Linda Ditch
New to Hanover’s Main Street is Tanzi's Salon, which opened on April 16. The shop is described on its Facebook page as “a modern, upbeat and edgy salon” run by former Hilde’s Salon stylists Heather Simpson Blake, Trina Lambert, and Airelyn Owens.

Heather says, “The Tanzi name came from my mother’s side of the family. My great-grandfather opened a market in Hanover in 1897. Then it was run by his sons Charlie, Harry, and Leon until the late 1960s. Tanzi Brothers was a landmark for the town of Hanover.”

According to their Facebook page, "From classic elegance to the razor edge of avant-garde fashion trends, we are here to help you achieve your best look, every day."

The full-service salon is open 7 days a week, including 3 evenings. Some of the offerings include cuts, color, high/lowlights, permanent curls, keratin smoothing, up-dos/wedding styles, face and body waxing, and natural and gel polish manicures.

The salon is located at 35 South Main Street. You can find out more on both Tanzi’s Facebook and Instagram pages.

5 tips for your next hairstyle appointment:

Before heading to your next hairstyle appointment, consider these tips.

1. Plan ahead.

Have a good idea of what style you want before you arrive. Bringing pictures is a great idea so you and your stylist will be on the same page.

2. Be on time!

Your stylist has a tight schedule too.

3. Take a few minutes to talk to your stylist.

Be specific about want you want. Let him or her know things like your lifestyle and how much time you want to spend getting ready each day.

4. Speak up!

If something doesn’t seem right during the cut, tell your stylist. It is easier to fix something during styling than afterward.

5. If you like the results, don’t forget to tip!

The norm is 15 to 20 percent.
