Revels Traditions with Genticorum

Revels North invites everyone on March 12th for a celebration as we introduce our featured musicians for The Christmas Revels: A French Canadian Celebration of the Winter Solstice! Members of Québécois trio Genticorum will be leading a series of workshops throughout the afternoon, and playing for two contra dances in the evening. This dynamic and high-energy trio--Pascal Gemme, Yann Falquet, and Nicholas Williams--have become a fixture on the international world, folk and Celtic music circuit, and their four albums have met with critical acclaim in Canada, the United States and Great Britain. We are so pleased to be able to provide this introduction to the featured band for our upcoming Christmas Revels. Join us for one workshop, or celebrate for the whole day! Workshops take place at the Norwich Congregational Church; dances will be at Tracy Hall. 2:30 - 4PM Choose from two workshops: Fiddle Workshop with Pascal Gemme* Revels Singers will learn French Canadian songs and singing styles, led by Nicholas Williams and Yann Falquet 4 - 5:30PM Genticorum will lead the Band of Fools, teaching French Canadian tunes for dancing.
