Northern Stage presents! New Works Now - Here Today

By Bob Stevens, directed by Carol Dunne

Join Northern Stage for our second annual New Works Now, a showcase and celebration of new plays. Inaugurated in 2014, New Works Now presents fully rehearsed staged readings of works new to the American theater. Here Today, an intimate play by local writer Bob Stevens (Yes Dear, The Wonder Years) brings to life a long forgotten night before John Lennon and Paul McCartney were the most famous young men on Earth. Stuck in a hotel room in Key West, they do what young men do when they're bored--drink too much! As their talk turns serious, they bond over their lost mothers and find inspiration for two of our favorite Beatles songs: "Julia" and "Let it Be." Here Today is wonderful work in progress that recently won top honors at the Liverpool Ticket to Write new work festival.
