Apr 27, 2015 01:21PM ● By Kirsten Gehlbach
On the first Sunday in May, chefs from the Upper Valley’s best restaurants, along with artisan cheese makers and beverage provisioners, will come together in a fundraiser to support the Upper Valley Haven. The event is a late-afternoon gala where more than 300 guests will have the pleasure of sampling outstanding cuisine artfully prepared, listen to live music, and bid on exciting silent auction items donated by local businesses and individuals. This year’s event takes place Sunday, May 3, from 4 to 6:30pm at The Quechee Club, Main Street, Quechee, Vermont.

Chefs of the Valley is in its ninth year, and each year adds a new twist that makes the event even more fun. We always have top-notch food from the area’s best chefs and fabulous local musicians who donate their time to play for the crowd. Come join us; you won’t be disappointed!” says Liz Verney, development & communications director for the Upper Valley Haven.

Chefs of the Valley launched nine years ago and raises approximately $40,000 each year for the Haven. This year’s participating restaurants and food businesses include:

Ariana’s Restaurant, Barnard Inn & Max’s Tavern, Blood’s Catering, Blue Moon Sorbet, Candela, Canoe Club, Carpenter & Main, Cobb Hill Cheese, Elixir, Heart Rock Kitchen, King Arthur Flour, Loch Lyme Lodge Restaurant, Middlebrook Restaurant, Pine Restaurant, Red Rooster, Robie Farm, The Prince & the Pauper, The Quechee Club, The Quechee Inn, Simon Pearce, Thistle Hill Cheese, Tip Top Café among others. Beverages will be provided by Artisanal Cellars, Baker Distributing, Farnum Hill Ciders, and G. Housen.

Tickets to Chefs of the Valley are $75 per person, which includes two floors of sumptuous gourmet cuisine, live music by the Gerry Grimo Trio, open wine and beer bars, and expanded seating.

A sampling of the fabulous silent auction items include golf foursomes at area courses, jewelry, local theater tickets, a Martha’s Vineyard vacation, and much more. In addition, there is an online raffle of a 20x24-inch framed pastel painting, Pumpkin Time, by national award-winning artist Aline Ordman (valued at $1,800).
