What makes this gelato so unique? Storeowner and gelato aficionado Morgan Morano says, “I make it from scratch using local ingredients and ingredients from Italy. It’s extremely traditional”. So traditional, you may in fact forget you’re in Hanover. For Morgan, who spent six years on and off living in Italy, authenticity is key to this dessert. She had the privilege of learning the gelato-making process firsthand while she was in Italy and brought the flavor back home to Hanover. Morgan began her business at the farmers’ market but was ready to open a store of her own and finally found the perfect space on Main Street. When asked about her desire to open up a dessert shop, she says, “I always wanted some sort of dessert shop. I’ve always had a really big sweet tooth and my father always had a big sweet tooth”. Lucky for us, the Morano sweet tooth gene has been passed down and we’re able to indulge in a little taste of Italy. While she keeps the case stocked with traditional flavors, Morgan frequently changes the menu, giving customers the opportunity to try something new.

Morano Gelato is open from 10:30am–9:30pm Sunday through Thursday and 10:30am–10pm Friday and Saturday.
